Captain Gerardo Lara : Our Captain Gerardo Lara is a recognized captain in the Los Suenos Marina. Originally from Guanacaste, Captain Gerardo has 2 daughters. Known as CHANON Captain Gerardo has 32 years of experience fishing from La Marina Los Suenos, previously in Flamingo for 8 more years, that is 32 years of experience. Chanon has participated first as a mate and later as Captain in the most important tournaments in Costa Rica. If what you are looking for in your Fishing Charter is an experienced Captain, La Patrona is the right boat.

MATE Adrian : Adrian joined LA PATRONA Fishing Company in may of 2022. He has been fishing the waters off Costa Rica for his entire life, honing his skills on tournament sailfish teams in Los Suenos where he fishes every year. Memo is a Fly fishing expert, and loves to show clients this exciting way to fish, but is also a proficient dead bait fisherman, and he gets fired up to feed sailfish off the dredge. Adrian has also caught hundreds of Marlin, several over 500 pounds. His cool and calm demeanor when a big fish is on the line is invaluable, leading to great crew communication, and ultimately, more fish brought to the side of the boat. Everyone will learn something about fishing with Memo. He will also be sure that everyone onboard La Patrona has an epic time on Marlin charters, learning about our awesome fishery and hopefully getting a Marlin to the side of the boat!

Mate PIOLO : Piolo started his career young fishing on the water volunteering to work on boats in the Los Suenos Marina. He volunteered so that he could learn the ropes from the best charter captains and crews in the world. This paid off, he is now one of the best mates any guest could ask for. He has knowledge of the best lures, bait and fishing techniques to catch all species. Piolo has pretty good English, without schooling his English is about 60%. He works hard to ensure our clients are happy and experience true sport fishing that is up to tournament standards. Piolo is a great teacher for beginners and loves to answer any questions you may have.
